[Ag-eq] anyone out there

Susan:

I'll be sure to let you know if I see something really exciting.

What kind of chickens do you keep?

I've thought about getting a few hens for eggs. Maybe this is a dumb
question, but would the hens lay if there isn't a rooster around?

You're not really suppose to have roosters in the city limits; I think this
law had something to do with cock fighting, but not sure. I live within the
city limits, so don't want any problems. I was thinking about getting 3
hens; what do you think?

Also do you know if there are types of chickens that handle the heat better
than others. It frequently gets over 110 here, so I'm concerned about it.

How much space do you think chickens should have?

I would have to build an enclosure for them, since I don't want them all
over the neighborhood. I would make sure they have plenty of shade.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

Thank you.

Nella
