[Ag-eq] anyone out there

Hi Michelle,

I have never fostered animals in the normal way, but half of all our pets
were strays. In fact, my two Walker hounds were two of a set of four
hunting dogs that had been dumped on the farm. We think they were litter
mates that someone didn't want to work any more or even care for over the
winter.

We found them on the farm in October, 2008. The rule around here is don't
feed wandering hunting dogs, just let them go on about their business and
the owners will pick them up in a day or so. These four had no collars and
were very thin. We watched them four about two weeks. They were friendly,
but they would not let you get within thre feet of them. When they started
getting into neighbor's trash, there was nothing else to do but start
feeding them a little here and there. They went off for about two and a
half weeks so we thought their owners finally caught up with them because we
had seen a couple of trucks driving slow in the area. Then two of them
showed back up and they looked even worse than before. They just broke my
husband's heart and they were his from then on. It took him almost three
months before Dover would let Matt tuch him and then an additional two more
months before Stout finally gave in. Dover and Stout are the biggest pare
of nutty clowns in the world.
