I wrote to Pam and told her you might contact her.  I explained that you 
probably didn't want to attend a therapeutic center, but hoped she might 
know some instructors in your area.  It might be worth a try.

I took a few lessons at a therapeutic riding center several years ago and 
don't feel like I learned much.  I thought they were overly concerned about 
safety and a little patronizing.

I did learn some about horse care, grooming and tacking up, but didn't learn 
a lot about riding.  When I left they were able to suggest some instructors 
in the community.
