Hi, Nella! Yes, I do have a horse. She is a bay Paint 24 year old mare who due to side bone and founder, is no longer rideable but I raised her and her mother and her grandmother so she will be with me til her quality of life is gone! Would love to adopt one! I keep looking on Petfinder and see many I would love to have! I mainly want Quarterhorses and Paints, NOT Pintos. Have been interested in the German Shephard lovers heree. I am more of a poodle lover! Right now I have a little five pound toy poodle that lived in a cage for seven years until I rescued him! He was such an unsocialized little bastard when I got him but who could blame him! He is much betternow. Better than I thought I would ever see him him be! German Shephards are a scarey breed! Police departments use them indrug sniffing, attacks on criminals, etc...and, yes, there are many health issues with the breed! I think that Guide Dog facilities just migrated to more society acceptable breeds. Now, if I were ever to get a guide dog, it would be a standard poodle! Several years ago I was at a place for a service where theree were about seven dog / handlers. When anyone up on the stage would say to please stand or please sit or move over to your right or whatever, it was the one poodle in the group who would beat everone up or down or whatever was asked before any of the other dogs and even the people!!! But all the dog evperts do say that the poodle knows more spoken words than any other breed! And you guys are right, any German shephards that I have been around, can be a bit unruley if not kept busy with a job! Peg
