Hi Nella,

Oh the horses are doing well. The bay is friendly and the palomino is still
a bit aloof. I decided to see what would happen if I just took my time and
I stood still with my hand extended towards him with a sugar cube in it. I
talked to him and said I would not approach him I was waiting for him to
come to me. Of course I know he doesn't understand me, I was just going by
a calm voice to keep his attention. He moved a few steps closer and stopped
and I told him I was just going to wait for him. Then he came right to me
and sniffed the sugar then he ate it. I told him he was a good boy and I
rubbed his neck and scratched his forehead then I turned around and left it
on good terms. The little bay is very social. He is the leader and the
palomino follows him.

I wondered how I would find their feed buckets then the first time I took
them food I realized I would have no problem at all as they nudged their
buckets and whinnied.

I have been zapped in the boobs way too many times and I finally figured out
a solution. The wire is on the inside of the posts and we can put a rail on
the outside of the fence between three sections where I feed them and
approach the fence. Then I can bump in to the fence and not get zapped.

Today was my 60th birthday. We went to the local volunteer fire station
where they described how to burn on our lot. There was a guy there playing
country songs on his guitar and it was delightful. I thanked them for all
they did for us. Then we went to the Highlands State Park which was very
cool. There was a boardwalk trail through a cypress forest that smelled so
cool. I had to leave my guide dog home because they said there are gators
there. I guess they want the dogs to be safe but we are fair game.
Hahahahaha

Tonight when Tom brought in my birthday cake I went to blow out the candles
but I couldn't think of a birthday wish that hadn't already come true.

JODY
