Hi Tracy,

Oh I love Clinton Anderson.  I have actually used many of his techniques
with my guide dog.  "Make the right thing easy and the wrong thing hard" for
one and I find that if I wait until Walker calms down and relaxes before I
let him go forward the easier it is next time we go out.

Walker had a horrible problem bolting out of the car.  I broke down the
steps to first reach for the handle and when he got excited I said wait and
I waited for him to calm down.  Then I opened the door a small amount and
did the same thing on and on until I could open the door and get out and he
would just sit and wait.
