Hi Jewel.
Don't you have to worry about hawks in New Zealand?
At our place in Montana, we never let the little dogs out alone, in case a 
hawk came sailing by looking for lunch.
Even here in Jersey, we have hawks and even eagles only a few miles away.  I 
don't know if there are any right here, but we do have rabbits, and where 
there are rabbits, there are rabbit-eaters.
