I blieve that donkeys, particularly, jacks can be very noisy, so that may be worth considering if
you have close neighbours.
Sorry to hear about Jack, but he was 30+ wasn't he?

Subject: [Ag-eq] caring for minis

Michelle:

I have some questions about caring for minis. I've been considering getting a
mini mule. My old mule died about 10 weeks ago and my horse has been a little
lonely without him.

I'm assuming they get all the same vaccinations as full sized horses, but do
they make ones in smaller amounts for the minis?

What about the dewormers, are there smaller ones for the minis?

I've heard that it is very easy to get the minis to fat; do you have this
problem?

What do you feed yours?

Can you buy mini sized halters and such?

I've also heard they can easily get out of fences; what is your opinion?

My fence will hold goats, so it will probably hold minis.

I want my horse to have another equine friend, but I don't want a full sized
horse or mule; I can only ride one. I've also considered a donkey; does anyone
have experience with donkeys?

I would appreciate any advice and suggestions.

Nella
