Jewel, I'm glad you're happy with the greenhouse.

I've never heard the word stirk before.

I let Sally Joe take all the milk she wants and once a day I milk Bonnie
out. I get about 2 1/2 gallons a day. I suspect Sally Jo is getting well
over a gallon. I was told that Bonnie would give about 4 1/2 gallons per
day. Sometimes I will get as much as 3 gallons. Sally Joe is looking fat
and sassy. Bonnie is also looking good.

Sally and the little goat Gumdrop are friends. Cruiser seems to be the
official baby sitter. I find all the big girls grazing and Cruiser
supervising the youngsters. Perhaps I should call this place the funny
farm.

Nella

Well! the house now has its frostcloth hat on, and I am very please with
the result, as, to all appearances, are the plants that call it home.
Nella! Is Bonny still suckling Sally Jo, or are you milking her right out
and bucket-feeding the calf?
Btw: I was playing my word game Word Ladder the other night and I came to
the clue: young bull or
cow: obviously, Sporcle's game computer doesn't know that a young, very
young cow is a heifer: but be that as it may, the answer was stirk. I
thought a stirk was another word for a steer.
There are many differences in word meanings between English English and
American ..., and this may be one.
I will consult the oracle and find out!

          Jewel
