Hello David,
Here's hoping national legislation will be passed that will
among other things require all states and U.S. territories to permit
autonomous transportation services of all types to operate within their
borders. A similar bill is being debated in Wisconsin. Texas is embracing
autonomous transportation both for freight and passenger transportation.
Tesla, and Waymo are making inroads in some of our cities such as San
Antonio where we live. Waymo recently widened their geofence to include
additional parts of town and the San Antonio International Airport. Waymo
has been told that they need to widen their geofence more to include areas
of town where major tourist attractions such as Seaworld, Six Flags Fiesta
Texas, The J.W. Marriott Resort and the TPC San Antonio golf courses, and
other major points of interest are located. We hope they will soon begin
operating on our freeways as well. When Waymo includes this part of town
within its geofence we will finally have service where we live and will look
forward to taking our first Waymo ride unless Tesla beats them to the punch.
Tesla now operates in Austin, Dallas, and Houston but does not include San
Antonio for expansion at this time. Hopefully we'll be on their list of
expansion cities for the second half of 2026. When we take our first Waymo
or Tesla ride you'll know.

Apparently, Maryland has once again done their best to harm Marylanders
including the blind and disabled. They have voted down the autonomy bill.
This is sad news!
Thanks,
