[Blind-Gov] The accessibility of soft phones?

My agency uses Sisco Jabber, and I found it to be totally inaccessible. Now, it was 3-years ago when I last attempted to use it, so maybe there are differences. Since my position is automatically provided with an iPhone, I did not have to request an iPhone as a reasonable accommodation like I did at my previous agency for this exact reason.

I just took a look in the JAWS Help for Popular applications and did not find a Softphone listed, but I could have missed something. You might consider calling Vispero/VFO/Freedom Scientific technical support and ask if they have any information.

I've also sent an inquire to my Disability Program Manager and Reasonable Accommodation network to see what others might know.

Let us know what you find out if it is from a source other than this list.

HTH,
Annette

My agency uses zoom phone, and it is 100% accessible with jaws and absolutely fantastic.

And everybody is transitioning to laptops, so that when they either telework or rotate from one station to another they don’t have to reload everything and they just take their computer. There’s also include starting the use of soft phones. Does anyone use soft phones and if so, are there any ones that are particularly accessible? Speci Specifically for someone who is an exclusive jaws user? And only navigates using the keyboard?
