[Blind-Gov] Foreign Travel State Department Training accessibility

Hi Michael,

I had to deal with something similar at DOD. There are two ways this has been handled on my end. We have a text only version where you just read through everything without having to select different popups.

Second, they fixed the DOD training with that kind of popup system I had to use. They made a more accessible version where you select from links based on how they are labeled and how the scenario you have picked works. Perhaps someone can contact State to see if they have a more accessible version. I would hope they have one, since there are many blind people working there and in other parts of the government who use State Department materials.

As for the certificate, once you've printed it out, you could mark it in Braille or some other tactile way and put it in a folder or envelope so it doesn't get ruined or mixed up with other items.

I know this may not resolve the issue, but hope it helps.

Best

Beth

Thanks. I'm at DOJ and will be travelling for them. We use a virtual training created by Department of State: Counter Threat Awareness Training. I need State to approve my travel and they require a certificate of completion for the training. I will also be required to keep the certificate of completion with me while traveling. It's one of those trainings that works like an old point and click adventure game where you select things on a screen and read through popups.
