I think this will be a vary interesting topic and if I get time, I will try to tune in and listen. With most of us being international students and others having international background, there would be alot we can contribute and it could be a good discussion we can have on the list. Maybe one of us can tune and give a report to the list on what was discussed.
So what are some of everyone's thoughts on this subject?

I seldom think about my limitations, and they never make me sad. Perhaps there is just a touch of yearning at times; but it is vague, like a breeze among flowers.

Subject: On Mosen and Minx, What should we Expect of the Government

We have a global audience that tunes to Mosen and Minx each week. Support for blind people from governments varies widely around the world, and it will be fascinating to compare. Some people receive welfare to compensate for the costs of blindness. In some countries, employers are expected to pay for reasonable accommodations for blind employees, while in others, it is the Government's responsibility. In some countries, busses, taxis and even telephone bills are subsidised for blind people. in some countries, whether you work or not has an impact on the entitlements you receive. In some countries, the assistance you receive varies depending on whether you've been blind since birth, or were blinded due to an accident.

So this week, we want to cover two things. Firstly, what kind of assistance is available to you from Government as a result of your blindness, and do you feel its adequate. Secondly, what do we, as blind people, have the right to expect from Government. It is claimed by some that overly generous assistance acts as a disincentive for blind people to seek work, and that too many of us have made a lifestyle choice to live off the taxpayer. is that a fair comment?

So share your experiences and views on Government assistance for blindness with us this week. To participate, please add MosenAndMinx to Skype. And join us live, the very best way to experience a talk show, Tuesday at 6 Pm Eastern, only on http://www.MushroomFM.com
