Hello Crystal,
Good to see you on our list and good to hear from you. It has been a while since we talked on messenger.
I have been extremely slow in responding to my emails; finals and the end of the semester has kept me a little busy. So how is everything going?
I am planning a event within the next week or two and I am wondering if you and others on the list from different countries could participate. I often this social group over the phone called the Conversation Station (formerly Talk Shop) where blind people from across the United States and now even from other countries come to socialize and chat with other blind people. We often hold various events including Spanish lessons, play various games such as (are you smarter then a fith grader)? and many other programs. I would like to host a event to talk about life as a blind person in other countries and you would be a good speaker. Perhaps you could come and talk about your volunteer experience in China and what maybe even recruit some volunteers. I am thinking about the weekend of May 27, if it is possible with you. Send me a message with your schedule and if you would be willing to participate and what you think about this idea. Our other international
participants come on using skype.
On a different subject, have you heard of Braille Without Borders? It is something like a blind school in India, but the unique part is that there is a social training program for future leaders.
You should google Braille Without Borders if you think you may be interested.
Again nice to see you on here and nice to hear from you.
Anmol
I seldom think about my limitations, and they never make me sad. Perhaps there is just a touch of yearning at times; but it is vague, like a breeze among flowers.
