[Blind-international-students] Blind-international-students Digest, Vol 40, Issue 5

Mustafa, your social stratum is not under discussion, nor there is the
faintest evidence that the RNIB movie is fostering or promoting a social
condition of dependency for the blind population.

Services for the blind cost a fortune to RNIB and other similar
organizations. Understandably, RNIB is making an effective financial appeal
tastefully leveraging the very real emotional turmoil caused by Loss of
sight, be it gradual or sudden.

I lost my sight during my twenties and thirties... I adapted, worked hard for
over 30 years, and thrived because of the expensive social, psychological,
and technological rehabilitation offered to me by the amazingly caring
people in the Department of Blind Services of my own State government, and by
the fantastic Canadian national Institute For the Blind (CNIB), an
organization that like the RNIB derives its funding from mixed sources of
government funding, grants, and... tastefully emotional fundraisers very
similar to RNIB's.

If nothing else, RNIB, CNIB, NFB, ACB, AFB, and US State government agencies
for the blind help the blind to... Kick butt!

I recommend that you refocus your energy in becoming professionally
competitive, and avoid taking future offense for worthy causes where only
good will was intended.

Saluti, G.

"There is nothing worse than a sharp image of a fuzzy concept"
                             [Ansel Adams]
