I had a problem that I was wondering if anyone has come across bank
institutions websites. I move to PA and when I went into the bank to ask then
how I could access their website...they said they have no blind access. She
suggested I get someone to manage my "affairs". I told her I wanted to
remain independent and were there any programs (I have jaws which is very
popular program used and introduced to me by Blind Assoc.). She got upset
when I said that surely these programs creating the programs for the banks
would make a reading function for those visually impaired if not compatible
with our programs....she said perhaps we may not be able to meet your needs
and you should find another bank.
Anyone want to comment on that one. I said "you did not just say because
I came into here with a problem and it asked for internet access because I
am visually impaired, you are saying you might not cancel my account? She
said let me check with my superiors. I said "yes, I think you might want
to check with them because I believe that would be very discriminating let
alone there would be a public outrage if your customers found out you did
this.
So, gang, help me....how do you reconcile your bank accounts and check your
account routinely? deb
