It sounds like we needed to bottle Laura's essence and give out small doses to people in need.
I am constantly amazed by the spectrum of human existence.
Some people who take life shattering news on the chin, and push the limits of what's possible within that situation, others who the smallest change shakes them to their cores.
I am by no means casting any value judgements - we are all different and we are all necessary to make this amazing world.

I hear you Penny. I just found out as well. It isn't unusual for Laura not to call me or post on list. The last several communications I had was she was doing well but now on a ventilator. So pretty much she was confined to the nursing home. She was making crocheted baby slippers and even taught a
class through email, which I attended.   

I was shocked to say the least. I just shake my head at this news.

Dear Becky,
Thanks for letting us know this. I didn't even know that this list had an 'owner'. I really enjoyed reading about Laura's amazing life and attitude to living.
I feel bad that it isn't until 9 months later that I am finding out about her passing.
This list is great. It has helped me have confidence to teach people who are blind or have low vision to start or continue to mobilise in scooters or wheelchairs.
