I'm following this subject with interest. I bought my power-chair second-hand and use the seat that came with it. My manual chair has a specific cushion for me and it weighs an absolute ton!! It's not that great either though.
I've never looked into the differences between tyre types.
Not cushion-related, but one feature I absolutely love is the ability to rotate my control box right out of the way were effectively turning it upside-down. This enables me tget it under desks and tables etc which wouldn't be possible without this feature. It's done through a bracket on the right-hand side of the chair and the control box is attached to an arm which fits into this bracket. All I have to do is loosen a bolt slightly, adjust the box to how I need it and then do up the bolt again.
