Hi Becky
The one thing I really wish my chair had is the ability to raise my legs up like my friend's chair has. I've been upgrading mine piecemeal since I got it because all my powerchairs have been secondhand. I'm not able to get one from the NHS because they have rules relating to sight levels etc, which with no vision at all I fall foul of. I would love it if my chair could go up and down too for reaching into cupboards etc I have a handy set of clip things on the back which I think are for storing the seatbelt, but I use them for hanging bags on
Make sure the chair you get doesn't have a touchscreen, or if you're anything like me you'll be adjusting things by accident. My chair came with a controller that had a screen, but I swapped it out for one that didn't, because it was hard for the people around me to read the battery status indicator.
My footplates are also really heavy, and to transfer I have to lift them slightly and swing them out of the way.. They're bain of my existance and I'd dearly love to have some different ones but I'm only 5ft tall so the central footplate the company doo won't go up as hi as I need it.
It's a Pride Quantum 6 Edge. It's a bit of a beast with a fairly wide turning circle, but it takes my overweight frame with ease.
Good luck, keep us updated.
Erica

It is at the height it is because of the tilt, recline and foot raising options which I use all the time. Anyway I would have liked to know if ther are longer footrests so more of my foot could be on the footrest for transfers and just found out last week after asking two different places several times that they can make the chair deeper with a different seat which will it lower, so check into footrests and how the height of the chair can be handled and what options there are like tilt etc. Also when I got the chair it didn't come with push handles for hanging things on because they said "It’s a power chair no one is going to be pushing it." However I had no way to carry things. They said I couldn't get them unless I bought them which I did so know exactly what you want on your chair before ordering it because the way insurance is now things that were just normal parts of the chair like push handles don't come with it.
