Hi,
You could start stimulating his other senses.
I don't know if your adopted son from India is blind: but coloring books and things that stimulate his visual senses could help.
Also, something to stimulate him tactally.
There are many activity toys. I realize that noise is a factor when flying. No one wants to be bothered by a noisy child.
However, a mini keyboard with headphones or any toy that you can attach headphones to is helpful. You can also let him listen to the plane's radio. They might have Indian music on it or maybe even commontation by the pilot.
I also realize that you don't have too much room.
when I took my children on long bus rides: I would pull them close and tell them stories.
Granted, I had to make them interesting enough to keep their attention.
We would also wonder about all of the people who passed.
We would make up stories about them.
