[blindkid] Potty Training and eating independantly

I'm sort of from the school of "this will happen when the child is ready."
There are a million techniques and books out there. Both of my kids were
completely different in their "training" habits. My son just wasn't
interested at all and then finally, when he was ready, he was completely
potty trained in a week. My daughter was fine during the day but the night
time part took another year. It's frustrating but encouragement, patience
and perseverance will pay off. If there are any physical reasons that would
make things more difficult (not including blindness-I didn't find that to be
a problem), maybe you could let us know and someone with specific
information in that area could help.

With self feeding, I'd say high interest foods and plenty of opportunities
are a place to start. A nurse once told me that if I kept holding the
bottle for my son, he'd never choose to do it himself so I let go of the
bottle and low and behold, he took charge.
