Thanks to all who responded with their thoughts and to Albert for getting the information from Ollie about Title III of the ADA. This has certainly been an enlightening conversation for me and probably for others on the list. Jason does a good job of advocating for himself but he is just 13 and still has a lot to learn. We have read and discussed all the posts which in itself was a learning experience for him. I think that next I need to speak to his O&M. When he was told at Sears that they did not have anyone to assist him instead of taking him along and assisting him herself she should have brainstormed alternatives with him. Also I think a discussion in advance about what to say when requesting assistance and what to say if assistance is not given would have been beneficial. I will probably send along to her some of the posts, I think this can also be a learning experience for the O&M. This is her first year with our school system and
with Jason and she does not have a whole lot of prior experience. Albert please tell Ollie that the teen in question here is the one he assisted in getting to the White House for the Olympic event this fall. I will certainly keep his number should we have a need in the future for further advice.

Regards
