[blindkid] Diagonal VS touch technique

Hi. Thanks for the link.  Joli's mobility teacher's argument is that the school is a familiar environment.
 
Does the NFB have an official opinion on the diagonal technique? BTW: I have been wondering what is the difference between the NFB & the AFB?

I've just caught up on all my BlindKid digests.

I did a quick search on the diagonal technique and came up with a reference
that the O&M instructor is going to have difficulty opposing.  This is a
book published by a "conventional" source, the American Foundation for the
Blind (AFB).  Page 207 of the book, Foundations of of rehabilitation
counseling with persons who are blind of visually impaired, has great things
to say about the touch technique versus the diagonal technique -- relegating
diagonal for familiar situations and admitting that the touch technique is
good "for any travel situation."  I can't copy and paste from Google books,
