[blindkid] PacMate or BrailleNote?

I am ordering one or the other for my 10 yr old daughter this week and was taken 
back by the hefty PMA's for such an expensive machine. Both want about $500 per 
year after the factory 1 yr warranty (I am surprised that the companies don't 
feel a bit more confident about their products). Anyone are to share how much 
maintenance they have encountered with either machine after having them after a 
year?
