Hi Lynda, I must ask this question: Why are the teachers heaven-bent on 140
WPM for Isaac? I learned Grade 2, (contracted braille) quickly after
second grade, but I read college-level texts. I had 9th-grade proficiency.
My other question concerns mathematical word problems. What does that to
do with his learning? I was bad at math. I can add, subtract, multiply,
and divide, but give me fractions, algebratic equations, geometry, or
triginometry? No, ma'am!

Bottom line: IEP goals are extremely rigid.

You don't say anything about his O&M, Daily Living Skills, or Independent
Living Skills. How are they in school comparable to those in the home.
For example: Can Isaac be in his seat before the bell rings?
