Hello,
I am mostly a lurker, but occasionally ask questions. My daughter is in kindergarten and has an IEP. We have had a few issues with her K teacher which would never had come up if the teacher had read the IEP. We are new to all this, and we assumed that all her teachers would have been given a copy of her IEP. Any time we have talked with the K teacher, we were basically told, "trust me, I know what I am doing" We found out today that her K teacher has never seen her IEP. This is so surprising to me and I wish someone would have told me that if I wanted her teachers to see it, I was responsible for giving it to them. I am frustrated as I would have done this the first day of school. I just assumed the teachers got a copy of it. My questions are, Why got to all the trouble of the IEP process if the teachers dont get a copy? Is the K teacher going to be present at our annual IEP meeting? Again, I assumed all those invovled with my daughters education would be there and would have been given a copy.
And additionally, how have you guys handeled this? Do you give copies to all the teachers each year? What else am I missing? Should I assume nothing? I
Any additionaly information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! Julie
