Hello,

If you are looking for a camp in So Cal then it would be Camp Bloomfield.  The good thing about it is that they do offer family camp as well as an individual camp.  I would suggest you see their site and you'll be able to pick the session that would work for you and your daughter.  Camp Bloomfield is part of Junior Blind of America and they have great programs.

My husband and son did go a few years ago and my husband did have some concerns.  I will say that giving our input and the input of so many others they have worked at working out the kinks.  It's to the point that they have already signed up for the first family camp in June.

I know I won't find the ideal camp for her. That's why I wanted to try a
family camp first. Age appropriate won't do any good seeing how she is 11
and a 5th grader, but at about a 3rd grade comprehension. And if I send her
to something between 8 and 10 years of age, she may stick out a little too
much seeing how she is almost 5' 6" and doing kid games with little ones
becomes even more difficult.
