[blindkid] OT for 7th grader

Thanks all for responding, I wish I had a checklist of some sort to determine if there is a need. At first hand I do not see any obvious deficits. She ties her shoes, zips her coats (some are a bit harder than others), buttons shirts, ties her hair in a pony tail, folds papers, pours her drinks (unless a big bottle is full, this is harder to tilt without spilling), makes a sandwich, all of this just takes her longer than her peers, but still does it, knife skills are poor at best. So far we have found the time to work on OT without pulling her from class, but I get Arielle's point, and it is well taken, thanks.

I have been thinking about tactile graphics in math and geometry, and sometimes they are hard and time consuming, I'm guessing the will get harder, and at the same time with practice she might get better.
So may be OT can be of help in this area. I know the window of opportunity gets smaller as they get older to refine the skills for fine motor, and I don't want to look back and say "should have" or "could have".

Thanks

Heidi

Heidi
What areas are you finding that are an OT deficit with your daughter as compared to her peers?

Hi, does anyone have any feedback or resource of where I can find OT goals for a 7th grader? It seems that our OT can't find much to work on with my daughter and is thinking not to see her anymore, I think there is always something to do or to refine.

We have an IEP tomorrow and would like to have some goals we can incorporate.

Thanks,

Heidi
