[blindkid] OT for 7th grader

If she has trouble with knife skills a rehab teacher can help with
that. I also recommend giving her sharp knives for cutting (for
spreading she should still use a butter knife of course). I used to
have lots of trouble cutting things and I thought I had a hand
strength or technique problem, but then I started using a proper sharp
knife and it made a world of difference. If she is supervised at
first, and then independent after she has gained familiarity with the
knife and what a safe distance is for her hands, she will not cut
herself.
Things like sandwich-making sometimes take a little longer if done by
feel, but I think that's OK as long as she can get it done.
Working on interpreting tactile graphics is a good idea, though I'm
unsure whether this should be done with an OT or a TVI who is familiar
with producing the graphics and with Braille symbols.
