About the Office: The United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Arkansas has an opening for one (1) attorney in the Criminal Division in the headquarters office in Little Rock, AR. When fully staffed, the Eastern District of Arkansas has 60 employees, with 15 Assistant United States Attorneys in the Criminal Division and 5 Assistant United States Attorneys in the Civil Division, as well as the United States Attorney, First Assistant United States Attorney, Criminal Division Chief, and Civil Division Chief. Additional attorney positions may be filled from this announcement when additional hiring is approved.

Responsibilities and Opportunity Offered: The United States Attorney's Office offers a unique and challenging experience for highly motivated team players with the desire to litigate extensively. Applicants must demonstrate analytical ability, good judgment, organizational skills and excellent writing, communication and courtroom skills. In addition, applicants must exhibit the ability to work in a supportive and professional manner with courthouse personnel, other attorneys, support staff, and client agencies.

Qualifications: Applicants must have a J.D. degree with a minimum of one (1) year of post-J.D. experience, and be duly licensed and authorized to practice as an attorney under the laws of a State, territory, or the District of Columbia. Preference will be given to attorneys with strong trial experience. Healthcare fraud and related litigation experience will also be given preference for this opening.

Travel: Some travel will be required, both in-state and out-of-state, for casework and training.

Salary Information: Assistant United States Attorney's pay is administratively determined based, in part, on the number of years of professional attorney experience and qualifications for the position available. The range of basic pay is $44,581 to $117,994.

Location: Little Rock, Arkansas. The selected Assistant United States Attorney must reside in the district to which he or she is appointed.

Relocation Expenses: Relocation expenses will not be authorized.
