Why do you feel compelled to object when I just make a suggestion 
that makes it easier for people to use the list and its messages?

I do not run this list with a heavy hand.  I try and make as few 
pronouncements as I can because when I do, people like you, for some 
reason, feel like I am drawing a line in the sand, which you must jump across.
