Dear Mr. Manners:

The choice as to whether or not to take offence is truly yours!  If I were 
in your shoes, I'll interpret that which I have been offered as a FOOT IN 
THE DOOR that could lead to other possibilities hitherto unexplored.  Also, 
you could bring in a breath of fresh air to the department and help initiate 
or resolve issues of reasonable accommodations across several platforms in
