You may consider reaching out to your state bar, many of which have a pro bono fund to support pro bono representation. It may be worth asking if it can give you some money to cover the costs.

Thanks for the great suggestions, list mates,
I especially like the one about going to the publisher for a PDF copy, expense of though it maybe. The printed text goes for $500. But it contains all the forms needed for practice in the immigration court. With a PDF text, I could create form fillable copies of the forms and use them on my computer.
I’ll let you know if I have any luck. This will be a big gulp for me pricewise since I am a solo practitioner, but I am taking pro bono asylum petitions from the Northwest Immigration Rights Project, a local nonprofit, and that might motivate the publisher to give me a break. NWIRP has already sent me a bunch of tutorials and forms, and will be supervising me closely at first, so I’m already off to a decent start.
