Do you think hearing slightly different is somewhat similar to in the visual world to color deficiencies?

Every person hears things slightly differently. How can we determine, in advance, what these differences will make (if any) in the perception and comprehension of auditory graphs and sonification? What are the characteristics of the listener that predict performance?

Actually color sonification  hasn't disappeared at all, and is incorporated into various research projects.

Cool, but most of this stuff goes by the wayside once the researcher gathers data, writes his research paper/dissertation, and moves
on. This similar sound thing was being presented as the greatest thing for the blind in relation to colors but eventually that
disappeared too as people lost interest. Thanks for the explanation.

Actually, Sonification is the use of non-speech audio to convey information.

In the case of Graphs, researchers currently try to manipulate some parameters of sound like loudness, pitch, frequency, and tempo
with a bid to represent the differences between two or more data.

It is quite an evolving field that is witnessing lots of research at the moment.
