Hi all,

Here is an article that talks about the increased popularity of R, not just in the academic circles, but also in the corporate sector.
Company's selling statistical software have also acknowledged the existence of R as a true competitor.

This is a good news for students of Mathematics/ Statistics if they learn data analysis using R as I think this could turn into a good opportunity for finding jobs.

By adding R support, both companies show that commercial vendors can turn an open source threat into an opportunity
