[Blindmath] Statistics Courses

I've always found statistics more challenging than most math. One
advantage that it has is that it's very conceptual. There are a lot
of things that are understood without computations. One problem that
I've had is separating when to use a certain process versus an
alternative. It may be worthwhile going in knowing that every test
has certain assumptions. Learning what they are will help to select
which method is appropriate in any one setting.
I agree with Arielle that there are some very good tools that are
accessible to the blind. I've used R and SAS successfully. I feel
that both of them had a steep learning curve though. I wonder if
anyone knows of other resources that would be easy to use without
having to learn some programming language. The last thig that may be
difficult is the use of diagrams for probability distribbutions. I
think a lot of concepts can be taught and understood easily with
diagrams. I think it would be useful if you start asking your
disability resource center what tools they have available to make
simple pictures. As Arielle said this list is a good resource and I'm
sure we can help more if you have more specific questions in future.
