Hello to everyone at the Blindmath mailing list.

My name is Saaqib Mahmood. I'm a visually impaired person with an MPhil qualification in mathematics (with specialisation in analysis).

I have several questions relating to the Unified English Braille (UEB) and the future of The Nemeth Braille Code for Mathematics and Science Notation.

How much, if any, of the Nemeth Code is part of the UEB?

Is the Nemeth Code no longer in vogue for the kind of applications it was originally designed for?

Which code has been adopted in the UEB for brailling of mathematics and science?

Or, is it the Nemeth Code that still handles mathematics and science braille in the UEB?

In short, what is the future of the Nemeth Code with the adoption of the UEB?

Last but not the least, I would like to make a request of all those individuals and organisations who are into donating of braille materials.

I would be really grateful if you could send me books in braille on mathematics, physics, computer science & IT, and the English language, esp. mathematics.

Faithfully,
