[BlindMath] pdflatex:conversion errors

All,
I"m using Pdflatex on Linux to convert my tex to PDF for my math professor.
In some of them, I don't actually see an error, but it won't continue to
convert. Is there a way to get some kind of tool to do a static check of
the latex to make sure everything is in order, or how do people track
down errors that are not obviously noted? Is there another program
(either for windows or Linux) that I can use to do this better?
