[BlindMath] What is your experience reading LaTeX source?

Hello,
I have used Latex as a primary source of reading math since 2002 when I was
in my first year of univiersity studies in math and computer science..
I am used with the sintax and I can read the source realy quick with the
voice synthesiser.

But there is a project working with nvda and jaws, called latex-access that
can translate the latex source in a more audible form and also readable on a
braille display.

If you have a braille display, you can use latex access to read latex
translated in nemeth or ueb.

On the other hand I used duxbury braille translator to translate a latex
source into Braille and I succeeded to read the braille document in duxbury
with a braille display, the output was in nemeth or ueb according to the
template i have choosen in duxbury.

These are the methods I use now.

Also I use duxbury translator to embose latex documents in braille when I
need more control over the formulas, because on braille display, or using
the voice you can have only one line under your attention at a given moment.

On paper you can follow better the formulas.

Best regards
Radu Vasile.

Every once in a while someone on this list suggests that it would be a good
idea to learn LaTeX. I'm interested if anyone has found it useful to read
math as LaTeX source. If so, do you use computer braille or some other
method? Have you found any problems? Anything to add?

Thanks,
Susan Jolly
