Dear teachers of the visually impaired:
APH is seeking testers for Math Flash, an accessible Android app
designed for kindergarten and elementary school students.
Math Flash is a flashcard app that provides fun drills and
practices for basic math facts and mental math. The app is both
self-voicing and accessible with the screen reader TalkBack. Math
Flash announces each problem as it comes up. Teachers, parents, and
students can set the range of numbers, the mathematical operations,
the number of tries, and more.
Features:
• TalkBack support
• High-contrast colors and large print numbers.
• Clean and easy-to-use interface
• Quality sounds and voice
• Customizable problems covering addition, subtraction,
multiplication, and division
• Inclusion of negative numbers upon selection
• Practice and drill modes
• Fun and friendly comments
• Hardware keyboard support
If you have an Android tablet or phone running Marshmallow,
Android 6.0 or above, please consider helping us test this app. This
is a quick beta test so students' participation is not required,
although we do appreciate that if possible.
To participate, please join the Math Flash (for Android devices)
beta test mailing list by sending an email to
mathflashbeta-subscribe at tech.aph.org. Make sure to add “Join the Math
Flash beta test” in the subject line. Then, you will receive a welcome
message with a link to download the app.
This test will end on December 31st, 2021. Should you have any
questions, please contact me at lzhou at aph.org.
Thank you for your consideration!
