My understanding is that the calculator is an in-house internal app to the Mantis, i.e. you can use the calculator when the Mantis is not connected to the computer, just as there are various other features on the Mantis, such as the ability to write documents. When using the Mantis as a traditional Braille display, the output is entirely determined by the screen reader. It could therefore be worth contacting Freedom Scientific.
This is based on the assumption that you haven't been able to get Nemeth output with other Braille displays. If that's not the case, then ignore what I've said here.

I'm unsure if the Mantis has Nemeth capabilities yet. In the User Manual there is a statement regarding the calculator that the braille output for the calculator only currently supports computer braille only. I'm not sure how much the device has changed since the user manual was printed, however.
