[BlindMath] Geometry help

I was the TVI for a blind high school student who received an A in Honors Geometry.  You should tell the school to buy wikki stix and a glue gun.  I used these almost every day to create tactile diagrams for my student.  Both tools allow TVIs to make diagrams very quickly from worksheets, etc. that the TVI may not receive ahead of time.  My student had a difficult time with the diagrams from the embosser, although that is an awesome technology.  In my experience, tests like the SAT provide higher quality thermoformed tactile diagrams.   The student will also need a resource period during which a TVI can reteach the concepts.  The teachers in the math classes my student took covered concepts too quickly for us to keep up.  Additionally, I had to talk at the same time as the math teacher when we worked inside the math classroom.  This didn't work for us.

I've always used a (braille) embosser and Braille/drawing software (I use Tiger with a Viewplus embosser) to create drawings for my students. It is what they will see on the SAT / ACT tests and year end tests if your school has them.  They should look similar so he can be successful in those tests if he is college bound.
