[BlindMath] SPSS and Jaws

Boris,

Your link sends us to a page that contains a multitude of links on it, many of which are labelled with undecipherable alpha-numeric strings.

Please either paste the VPAT into an email, or provide the direct link to the content you are asking us to review.

I could tell that the material only covers TeX Live though, and my experience with this single implementation is not sufficient to assist beyond the commentary relating to the accessibility of the documents that are created.

I would for example ask how authors using TeX Live are supported to create HTML as the output file in preference to the frequently inaccessible pdf files TeX creates.

Jonathan

I would add that SPSS surely has some people in the accessibility department that get their salaries for these VPATs.

It is more difficult for us in the free software world, where most of the work is done by unpaid volunteers. However, we honestly try to make our software accessible.

I'd like to mention the VPAT statement we at TeX Users Group created for our software, https://apc01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ctan.org%2Ftex-archive%2Finfo%2Ftex-vpat&data=05%7C01%7Ca.j.godfrey%40massey.ac.nz%7C8cacacd979954ff1684c08db194511b7%7C388728e1bbd0437898dcf8682e644300%7C1%7C0%7C638131556679917924%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=NX7dpte9%2BTBEdLEOye%2Ff1aAr2vtWKkKn566%2FLJfJjms%3D&reserved=0. If we made any mistake, or could make the statement or software better, please let me know.

Good luck
