[BlindMath] Hoping you can help us recruit for a study about stakeholders experiences with college-level math - seeking BLV students, university math instructors, TAs and GAs, and disability office staff for a survey

Susan,

I hope you get some good responses here. If you could send this information to RESEARCH at NFB.ORG, they can make a broader distribution and perhaps help you get more candidates. We have established this process to avoid having emails posted to multiple lists, which I know you are not doing, and to avoid some of the questionable research requests we've received in the past. If you need help with this let me know. Thank you for your participation on this list.

Best regards,

I’m hoping that some of you on this list can assist Dr. Herzberg and Dr.
Rosenblum.

Best wishes,

Susan

My colleague, Dr. L. Penny Rosenblum, and I are excited to have the opportunity to conduct the research study, *Identifying Factors Associated with Success in College Mathematics for Students Who Are Blind or Have Low
Vision: Insights from Students, Faculty, and Support Personnel*. We could really use your help in recruiting for the study.

We are recruiting four groups of stakeholders to complete a 30-minute survey. All stakeholders will have met participation requirements in fall
2023 or later. The groups are:

   - College students who are blind or have low vision (BLV) and have
   enrolled in a math course
   - University instructors of math courses who have had a student who is
   BLV in their course
   - University teaching assistants, graduate assistants, or math tutors
who have worked with a student who is BLV
   - Employees of disability service offices who have supported a student
who is BLV enrolled in a math course

If you meet our college student criteria, we hope you will participate in the study. Attached is a formal letter of invitation.

We would also really appreciate your help in recruiting other stakeholders.
Will you take a few minutes to share the attached invitation with

   - Other college students
   - Your current and past college level math instructors
   - Teaching assistants and graduate assistants who support students who
   are BLV in math
   - Staff at your college/university disability service office.

To participate in the study, individuals will complete the survey at https://uofsc.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_8xjivfWR4tuOYHs.

Thank you,

Tina & Penny
