Hi all,

I updated the LURN pages this past weekend and pushed it out to the webpages version (link in the footer to this message).

In particular, I ensured the introduction chapter for blind users (Ch2), the BrailleR chapter (Ch15), and the ideas for becoming more efficient chapter (sections 10.3 and 10.4)were all updated with respect to creating batch files to run R scripts from Windows Explorer.

In brief: The technique I've used is to create a batch file that accepts a single argument. I then associate R scripts with that batch file and can then use the "open with" menu in Explorer to send the R script to R for processing. An additional output file is created automatically as a consequence, including all error and warning messages.

You will need to go looking in LURN for the full instructions which are more detailed than the brief description given above. This batch mode of operation works well when you are getting comfortable with the coding side of R work so the use of R interactively still has value. You certainly do not need to use this approach, but I think you'll like it once you get it set up right.

Cheers,
Jonathan
