Hi,

Last time on Windows I used NVDA + Emacs ESS (the Emacs ESS is not the same
as Emacs) , checkout "GNU Emacs and ESS - All-in-one installation file by
Vincent Goulet" on https://ess.r-project.org/index.php?Section=download

On Linux i use Ubuntu + emacs +ess installed via apt-get.

I took the Coursera's R course from Johns Hopkins Uni... I did almost all
of the assignments in Emacs + ESS... Another setup is via Jupyter + R
kernel. The notebooks are displayed in Firefox and I use orca to read it.

Hope that helps,

David
