[BlindRUG] Creating an Accessible Technical Report with Visuals and Flowcharts

Hi all,

I am currently working on a project where I need to submit software and documentation. The report writing includes new elements for me:

1. Git History: Showcasing Git commits made during development.

2. Data Visualizations: Incorporating graphs like line charts, histograms, heatmaps in Matplotlib to represent data.

3. Design Representation: Potentially a flowchart or hierarchical diagram to illustrate the project design.

Up until now, my experience has been text-based writing in Microsoft Word, without integrating graphical elements or code snippets.

I have a few questions:

1. Ensuring Accessibility: What are best practices to make all charts, graphs, and the full document accessible and inclusive? As a screen reader user, it's important for me that my report be fully accessible.

2. Microsoft Word and Flowcharts: Given my familiarity with Word, can I create the whole document and flowcharts myself? As someone who never seen flowcharts, how can I conceptualize and construct them? Any useful tips?

3. Presenting Code: What's the recommended method for including Git commit history and explaining code concepts in the text?

Thank you in advance.
Khalid
