He definitely got what he deserved.

Data security is an interesting field.  You've got people who make a 
LOT of money breaking into systems for a living.  And you've got 
others who make a LOT (but not as much) money defending those same 
systems.  These people know each other, respect each other, and even 
gather at conferences and conventions to learn about the latest tools 
of both trades together.  They can even be seen chatting with each 
other over drinks at these things (all watching their wallets 
carefully, of course--either side is likely to try and pinch an ID 
card or an access badge as part of their cat and mouse games..)

Both sides view this guy with derision not for the mediocre anarchist 
cookbook style skills employed, but for the childish prank, the ease 
of catching him, and the lameness of trying to play off his blindness 
over it.
