[Blindtlk] should blind people go barefoot?

Graves, Diane dgraves at icrc.IN.gov

Okay, okay. I know this is old business, but I can't resist the urge to
make a contribution. I like being in the midst of "fires." LOL

Going barefoot, for the most part, is not my thing any more than
climbing mount Everest (spelling?) is something I personally am inclined
to do. But that doesn't mean that another blind person who feels so
inclined shouldn't do those things. We are just as unique and
individual as are the sighted.

Nope, I stepped on a bee when I was a kid, and it cured me. I might add
that my husband, who is sighted, is even more fanatical about having
something on his feet than I am.

Heck; sighted people don't look where they're going half the time
anyway! AS I say, whether one goes barefoot has more to do with whether
one's lawn has clover (thus inviting honeybees) than anything else! <g>
Mine doesn't but I compromise and wear flip-flops!

thank you mary for saying this. I enjoy going barefoot both indoors and
outside. I live out in the country and as soon as the weather gets wwarm
enough, I go barefoot. However, I never thought my decision to do so has
anything to do with blindness.
