Diane:

That is true about the candy.  However, the candy changes temperature and
can be measured with a talking thermometer.

This levels the playing field for us.

Wow, this is really cool. I have never had all of those grilled veggies
before. I have had grilled corn on the cob. It was delicious.

I was also interested in your posts about making candy. My dad used to make
candy every year for Christmas, and he always told me that there was no way
I could do it because it changed color to let the cook know when it was
ready to be poured on to the waxed paper or pan for it to harden.

Diane,
    Meat & fish are not the only items you can grill! I frequently grill 
corn-on-the-cob, tomatoes, squash, mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflower, 
pepeprs, and onions! The baskets can be purchased at WalMart, Lowes, Home 
Depot, or Target. They are great for any kind of steaks or patties, not just

fish!
